OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The plant utilizes a pressurizing unit to supply water, followed by heating in a preheater using the hot fluid, WFI. Subsequently, the preheated water passes through the pipe side of the first column’s exchanger, where it is further heated by industrial steam in the shell side. After preheating, the water goes through the final preheater, reaching the optimal temperature in the first effect. In this stage, the water vaporizes at the bottom of the column. The PSME distiller employs the “Falling Film Technology” to ensure efficient operation of the machinery.

In the initial stage, the pure steam generated is directed to the second effect exchanger’s shell side. Simultaneously, water enters the second effect but on the exchanger’s tube side. The pure steam imparts its heat to the water, undergoing condensation and transforming into WFI (Water for Injection). Concurrently, a portion of the water on the tube side evaporates due to this energy, serving as the feed for the subsequent effect. This sequence is replicated through each effect until the final one. The WFI obtained from the prior effects is cooled within the first preheater, and any non-evaporated water in the last effect, known as blowdown, is discharged at the column’s base.

MANUFACTURING CHARACTERISTICS

The PSME series by GDN reflects four decades of expertise and continuous technological advancement in crafting pharmaceutical equipment. The apparatus is constructed entirely from AISI 316L stainless steel, featuring a pickled and passivated active surface. It adheres rigorously to the standards of various pharmacopeias and complies with the guidelines of CGMP, GAMP, and FDA. TIG welding is employed for all internal joints, the chassis is composed of AISI 304 stainless steel, and machinery control is executed through an interface with Siemens PCL and SCADA.

The separation system in this new line of distillers has been enhanced by utilizing centrifugal force. Water droplets are directed towards the walls and pass through a disc system, compelling them to fall downward.
